Work & Job Seeker Routes
Germany's Skilled Immigration Act opened several routes for qualified professionals. With a job offer you can apply for a skilled-worker visa or the EU Blue Card. Without one, the Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) — introduced in June 2024 — lets you come to Germany and look for work in person.

Requirements
What you will need
- A recognised university degree or a vocational qualification of at least two years
- For the Opportunity Card: either full recognition, or enough points across qualification, experience, language, age and ties to Germany
- Language — at least A1 German or B2 English for the Opportunity Card, and usually B1 to B2 German for employers
- Proof that you can support yourself while you search
- Health insurance valid in Germany
- A German-format CV and translated, attested certificates
