- A recognised bachelor's degree for a master's programme
- An APS certificate — mandatory for applicants from India
- Language proof: TestDaF, Goethe or telc for German-taught programmes; IELTS or TOEFL for English-taught
- A blocked account (Sperrkonto) as proof of funds, at the amount set for the year
- Health insurance, motivation letter, CV and letters of recommendation
